Becoming a celebrant is about so much more than learning the theory.

Our online training gives you the knowledge, guidance and practical tools you need to build your celebrant career. But we also believe there’s enormous value in stepping away from your screen, meeting other trainee celebrants and having the opportunity to put your learning into practice.

That’s why our online training courses are complemented by our in-person Celebrant Training Days.

These practical, immersive days are designed to help you develop the confidence, presence and skills you need to become a professional celebrant, whether your passion is weddings, funerals or both.

Learning by doing (online training + immersive training day)

There are some things that some people learn better by doing.

Our Training Days give you the opportunity to practise the skills you’ve been developing through your online course in a supportive, real-world environment.

You’ll have the chance to explore what it feels like to stand in front of a group and deliver ceremony content, develop your celebrant voice, practise your presentation skills and experience some of the situations you may encounter when working with real clients.

You’ll be encouraged to experiment, ask questions, try things out and learn from the experience.

There’s no expectation that you’ll arrive as a polished professional. That’s what the training is for.

Wedding Celebrant Training Days

For those training to become wedding celebrants with the Celebrants Collective, our Training Days provide an opportunity to explore the practical side of creating and delivering meaningful wedding ceremonies.

You’ll work on skills such as:

• Presenting and speaking confidently in front of an audience
• Developing your own celebrant style and presence
• Bringing ceremony scripts and storytelling to life
• Working with readings, rituals and symbolic elements
• Creating moments that feel personal rather than formulaic
• Managing the practicalities of delivering a ceremony
• Responding calmly when things don’t go quite to plan
• Building confidence in your ability to lead a wedding ceremony

It’s a chance to move from “I think I could do this” to actually experiencing yourself doing it.

Funeral Celebrant Training Days

Funeral and memorial ceremonies require a different set of skills and a different kind of presence.

Our Funeral Celebrant Training Days give you the opportunity to explore the practical and human side of this work, including how to communicate with confidence, warmth and sensitivity during some of the most difficult moments in a person’s life.

You’ll have the opportunity to practise:

• Delivering funeral and memorial ceremony content
• Developing your presence and tone
• Using your voice appropriately for different moments
• Telling someone's story with care and authenticity
• Creating a sense of calm and reassurance
• Handling the unexpected
• Working with other professionals involved in a funeral
• Developing the confidence to lead a ceremony with dignity and compassion

The aim is not simply to teach you what to say or do. It’s to help you develop the judgement, confidence and presence that professional celebrancy requires. On some training days, we'll also visit a working crematorium too, to experience how they work and get a feel for what it's like to be inside of one.

You’ll learn alongside other trainee celebrants

One of the most valuable parts of our Training Days is being in a room with other people who are embarking on the same journey.

Our trainees come from all sorts of backgrounds and bring different experiences, perspectives and life stories with them.

Training together means you can learn from one another, share ideas, practise together and ask the questions that naturally come up when you’re learning something new.

And very often, the connections made during training continue long after the day itself.

You’re not just learning how to become a celebrant. You’re becoming part of a wider community of people who understand the work you’re stepping into.

From learning to confidence

We don’t believe confidence comes from simply being told that you can do something.

Confidence comes from doing it.

That’s why our Training Days are such an important complement to our online courses.

The Training Days give you the opportunity to practise.

Together, they help you develop the understanding, practical skills and confidence to take your first steps towards working professionally as a celebrant.
