What did you do before becoming a celebrant or in addition to being a celebrant now?

I work as a Wedding coordinator for The Wedding Dolls so I've been in the wedding industry for about 9 years now! I also deliver training on women's health and work for the Public Health department as a Physical Activity specialist.

What experiences or past skills do you think helped you with being a celebrant?

I have lots of experience in talking to large groups of people not only through my work but also from my musical theatre and acting experience. Also working in the Wedding Industry for 9 years has given me the truly important experience and tools to make every couples day special - I just LOVE everything about weddings!

What made you want to train to become a celebrant?

I've witnessed so many great and not so great ceremonies over my years in the industry. I think every couple deserves a special and unique ceremony After all the ceremony is the best part of the day - right?! I love weddings and love people to enjoy themselves.

What did your friends and family think of your decision to become a celebrant?

They were very supportive and thought it was a brilliant idea!

Why did you choose to train with the Celebrants Collective?

I listened to the podcasts, and they were my kinda vibe. Experts in the field and just fit me the best.

Did you have any worries about being a celebrant which the course has helped you resolve?

I was worried about writing, but the live tutorials have really helped me! I feel so much more confident now.

What was your most favourite part of the course and why?

I have enjoyed it all but the most daunting to start has become my favourite and that's the live tutorials. I wasn't sure about the tasks that Claire would get us doing but it built my confidence and was so lovely meeting other celebrants in training!

How has your training with the Celebrants Collective helped you to become a confident celebrant?

It has given me all of the tools I need to be successful! And I know they are always on hand if and when I need them in the future.

What’s been your biggest takeaway so far about training to be a celebrant?

That's a hard one!! Be proud and shout about being a celebrant from the roof tops!!

What kind of celebrant do you think you’re shaping up to be?

Happy, open, confident and aware!!

How have you been making a name for yourself since you became certified or in the process of getting certified?

I have been taking to social media, it's a minefield but I'm getting there, working on my website and telling everyone I come into contact with and all the venues I have worked with in the past.

What would be your advice to someone looking to train to be a celebrant?

DO IT!!!! Do your research to find the right trainer for you and just go for it.
